I performed some troubleshooting to verify this, and without launching into a lengthy explanation, Mac OS doesn't recognize the keypad as an extension of the main keyboard, but as its own separate full-size keyboard. However, there is a shortcut mapped to CMD + KP 3 (this opens a big time counter window), and you can't perform that shortcut with this keypad.
For example, keypad 3 (KP 3) starts recording. It works for that purpose unless you use a modifier key on the main keyboard while using the keypad. However, I needed to use it in conjunction with Pro Tools on my MacBook Pro 2015, as there are many keyboard shortcuts.
